A Note About South Cambs Dog Training Club

South Cambs Dog Training Club is a new, friendly place for dog owners to meet for classes. We run beginner through to advanced obedience sessions.

Our classes include puppy socialisation and pet beginner, right up to advanced obedience classes for those looking to help their companion dog be the best pet they can be.

The club is based in Whaddon, South Cambridgeshire and we pride ourselves on providing safe, positive and consistent dog training for all breeds of dogs.

Classes have limited spaces to ensure every dog and owner has the time and space they need to work effectively. The club uses force free reward-based training which is motivational for both dogs and owners. This helps to produce happy, confident pets as well as providing a positive relationship with their owners.

The welfare and safety of your dog is always our priority at the club, and we abide by both the Kennel Club Accredited Instructors Scheme Code as well as the British Institute for Professional Dog Trainers Code of Conduct.

Steve Argent, Lead Trainer, is currently working towards accreditation under the Kennel Club Accredited Instructor scheme and is also an affiliate member of the British Institute of Professional Dog Trainers.

He trains regularly and has experience within a whole variety of disciplines, with both dogs, as he feels it is important to keep his dogs focussed and stimulated. He has trained in obedience, working trials, gun dog, tracking, agility, flyball, Schutzhund, security, KCGCDS and more recently has become an Accredited Handler for Talking Dogs Scentwork. Other courses of interest include canine first aid and dog law.

Steve believes that improving his own knowledge and skills ensures that you receive the best training, information and support at South Cambs Dog Training Club.

Launched in 2010, Talking Dogs Rally® is the largest, most popular canine rally organisation in the UK. Based on Rally-Obedience, created by Charles Kramer in USA in 2000, this UK version brings fun, practical challenges to pet dogs and their owners. Starting with 200 points, and aiming to lose as few points as they can, teams perform user-friendly obedience-style exercises (stations) set out in a numbered course. TD Rally® is fun for all, welcoming handlers of all ages and abilities, and dogs both mongrel and pedigree. Uniquely, TD Rally® encourages teams to compete against their own previous scores rather than just against each other. With 93 different exercises, four levels of difficulty, eight different classes and an infinite combination of stations, Talking Dogs Rally® will keep you and your dog busy for years to come.
